Czech and Slovak born artists in Australia.

Artistic profile of Belzebu Studio:

Belzebu Pty Ltd was established to offer services in the design, manufacture, and restoration of architectural metalwork. The Directors, Tomas Misura and Leonard Sabol, are both award winning artistic blacksmiths by trade, who have extensive experience in restoring and custom-making works in iron, brass, copper and stainless steel.  Their true passion for the art of metal-working, eye for detail, and specialist skills, serve the company’s mission to bring the best of the ancient European tradition to Australian market.

In their work Leni and Tomas use a wide range of traditional blacksmithing techniques to create contemporary architectural works.  Their understanding of the distinctive character, and hidden possibilities within various metals enables them to shape and manufacture new and original alternatives for architects and designers.

Belzebu Studio Australia is the result of many years of cooperation between two successful and independent European workshops.  The Studio is focused on realizing the specific ideas of its customers, while paying attention to the aesthetic, detailed craftsmanship, and functionality of the manufactured object.

ABOUT US:

Both Leni and Tomas, are graduates of The School of Artistic Crafts, Bratislava, Slovakia.

After graduating, they both continued their studies under the tutelage of Professor Alfred Habermann, the World’s leading authority in the field of contemporary artistic blacksmithing.

Tomas Misura:

Tomas has traveled throughout Europe and studied numerous blacksmithing styles.  In 2002, and 2003, he traveled to Japan to find, and learn from, the old masters.  He met with Japanese designers Nobuo Matsuoka and Kotarou Kurata who deeply impacted on the future development of his career. Tomas has many years experience in restoring and producing unusual and custom design metal objects.  His strengths are free-hand forging, and repousse techniques. Between projects, Tomas further develops his passion for sculpture.

Leonard Sabol

Leni’s work is characterized by a more contemporary take on traditional blacksmithing practice.  He experiments with various material combinations, progressive working techniques and design ideas.  He has a passion for devising innovative technical solutions especially for construction joinery.  Leni also studied under Master Tinker Mgr. Ladislav Jurovaty, in the field of artistic wire craftsmanship.
